Planning a hike, can be time-consuming and nerve-wracking. One of the trickiest aspects of planning a hike in Japan is figuring out how to get to the start of the trail by train and bus, especially since a lot of the information is only in Japanese. Recently, trail damage due to powerful typhoons, and reduced public transportation due to COVID-19 have made it more difficult to plan a successful hike.
If you have a particular mountain in the Kanto area that you’d like to climb, even one that isn’t mentioned in this blog, you can send me an email with the mountain name and prefecture, and if up-to-date information is available, I can put together a small report in pdf format on how to access the mountain, and whether any issues can be expected – see below for some examples (the yellow highlights are for important information).
Please note that it can take several days to compile the information so make sure to send your request as soon as possible.
